About the event
Join the Methow Conservancy and North Cascades Prescribed Burn Association (NCPBA) for a hands-on demonstration of small-scale biochar production. This demonstration will take place at the Methow Conservancy office and will help us consume small-diameter, dead and downed wood from around our office campus. We will be using a small biochar kiln welded by valley local Dan Thrush. The process will be stewarded by NCPBA leaders and Methow Conservancy staff. Nate Anderson of the US Forest Service will also be in attendance as a follow up to his First Tuesday talk on biochar the night before. If you have specific questions about biochar production, this is a great chance to converse with experts.
