As a continuation of our “Salmon in the Library” partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, we are excited to celebrate the next stage in the salmon life cycle with a community-wide release event in honor of World Fish Migration Day.

After spending the past several months observing Coho salmon grow from eggs into young fish right here in the library, participants are invited to take part in their journey back to the wild.

On Friday, May 22nd, the library will host a fish-themed Story Time at 11:00 AM, perfect for families and young learners. Then, at 2:00 PM, community members will gather at the library and walk together to Homestream Park, where we will release the salmon into the Methow River.

This event offers a meaningful, hands-on opportunity to connect with local ecosystems, celebrate conservation efforts, and witness an important moment in the salmon life cycle. All ages…
