About the event
Kicking the Tires: Understanding the Financials When Buying or Selling a Business is a free workshop designed to help buyers and sellers better understand small business valuation and financial analysis.
The session will cover valuation basics, including why Seller’s Discretionary Earnings is commonly used for small business pricing. Buyers will learn how to read financial statements and estimate true cash flow, while sellers will learn how financial “add-backs” can help maximize sale price. The workshop also includes real-world math using local case studies and explores how factors like reputation, location, and market share affect business value.
The event takes place June 29 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in the YourSpace Meeting Room at TwispWorks. The speaker is Lew Blakeney, a former Business Advisor with the Washington Small Business Development Center and a Valley resident. Attendees can scan the QR code on the flyer to register.
