The Winthrop Rink opens for the 2026–27 season the weekend of November 13.

The rink spent the fall installing a brand-new ice refrigeration plant, a major investment in the future of outdoor skating in the valley. The extra construction time pushed opening back a couple of weeks, and as the rink puts it, great ice is worth the wait.

The Winthrop Rink is an NHL-sized outdoor rink under the North Cascades, with some of the best ice in the Pacific Northwest. Season passes and 10-punch packages are available, and the 10-punch is good for two seasons.
