Nov 28-Dec 7, 2008

This magical holiday celebration begins Thanksgiving weekend and marks the beginning of the Christmas season for the Methow Valley citizens and it's many visitors.  Family and friends come from afar to join in and share this wondrous time of year.

This year, the celebration kicks off with festive events on Friday, Nov 23 and continues through the weekend.  Our weekend opens with children's story telling at the Trail's End Bookstore at 2 pm.  Continuing downtown on Friday evening is a hot air balloon glow at 5 pm, Christmas caroling in the streets and the stores staying open late.

Santa comes to town on Saturday at 3 pm and stays for a two hour visit and a free picture with the rosy-cheeked little ones.  Goodies are always served by Santa's elves and then it's off to decorate the town Christmas tree and catch the horse driven wagon (that Santa road in on) for a ride through town.

Don't forget to watch the town lighting that evening at 5 pm followed by chili and other goodies being served in the Barn.  Then step outside and watch the most spectacular fireworks display right over downtown at 6 pm.   Warm your hands and feet by the warming barrels while you watch the greatest little "Winter Fireworks" display anywhere!

Then stay warm by joining us for our old fashioned community "Cowboy Christmas Show" in the Barn at 7:30 pm.

The variety show will be hosted by Lauralee Northcott and slated to join the cast are:  (to be announced)

The downtown stores will be open late during this 10 day celebration so bring your sales receipt to our Visitor Information Center in hopes of winning one of the many giveaway prizes offered by the local merchants.  (The prize drawing will be held December 8th.   Winners need not be present.)

Huge Fireworks Show !!!

This celebration originated by the local merchants as a way to thank everyone for their patronage throughout the year.

So pack up your warm shoes and blankets and join us in this winter wonderland.
