GOLFING

Golfing at Bear Creek Golf Course

Remember the days when you could tee-off 18 holes of golf for only $30?  Well, you still can at the Methow Valley’s scenic and surprisingly uncrowded Bear Creek Golf Course.  Just 3 miles from downtown Winthrop, this hidden gem offers 6,271 yards of interesting play over two circuits.

The estimated pace of play is 4.5 hours, but you would not be the first guest to linger over the mountain views, aspen groves and surprise wildlife sitings.  Bear Creek is a certified Audubon Course that strives to complement the natural landscape, flora and fauna while still offering top quality golf conditions.  Tee times recommended on weekends and holidays.

For the less serious golfer, putt-putt golf can be found right in Winthrop.  Tucked away below the western boardwalk, families can play a round of miniature golf while licking a cool ice cream cone at Sheri’s Sweet Shop at the 4-way stop sign (yes, there is only one!), or at Silverline Resort while enjoying beautiful views of Pearrygin Lake.
