This magical holiday celebration begins Thanksgiving weekend and marks the beginning of the Christmas season for the Methow Valley citizens and its many visitors. Family and friends come from afar to join in and share this wondrous time of year.

An Old Fashioned Cowboy Christmas!
Join us for a weekend of holiday spirit in true Western tradition.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28:

2-4 pm - Storytelling at the Trail's End Bookstore with Granny Winthrop Cost: Free 
5-6 pm - Night Hot Air Balloon Glow by Morning Glory Balloon Tours Cost: Free 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29:

11am - Mule Deer Fun Run 1K & 5K Run.  No pre-registration required.  Registration 10am-10:45am at Winthrop Mountain Sports. Cost is one can of food for the Cove Food Bank.  Race starts and ends at the Winthrop Ice Rink.  1K start 11:00am, 5K 11:15am 
12 pm - Santa Arrives downtown on Riverside Avenue 
1-4 pm - Children's Winter Fest (at the Barn).

  • Santa Photos at the Winthrop Barn by the Winthrop Kiwanis Cost: Free 
  • Tractor Rides from the Barn to Downtown Cost: Free 
  • Hot Chocolate, cookies, hot dogs and chips- Women's Auxiliary and Winthrop Auditorium Cost: Varies by item 

3pm - Camp fires on Riverside Avenue by the Methow Valley Snowmobile Association Cost:Free 
3-5pm Caroling along Riverside Avenue,  meet at Town Hall Cost:Free 
5 pm - Town Lighting on Riverside Avenue Cost:Free
6 pm - Fireworks Extravaganza, corporate sponsor Winthrop Evergreen IGA  Cost: Free
